When faced with a medical emergency, every minute counts. Knowing exactly what to do and how to help in those crucial minutes can be a matter of life and death.
As parents and caregivers we know that children are prone to mischief and misadventure, and we hopefully have the confidence to act if our child is ever faced with illness or injury. In the event of a medical emergency, we know that being able to provide basic First Aid and call for an ambulance quickly is the key to a positive outcome.
But what happens if you, the parent or caregiver, suddenly becomes very sick or injured with no other adults around, and needs emergency help? Mini Medics purpose is to educate Kindy-aged children with how to help quickly, calmly and bravely, in this very scenario. As Mums to little ones ourselves, we truly understand what age-appropriate skills our children are capable of learning and remembering, and we know that basic First Aid skills once learnt, will stay with them for life. Empowering children with the confidence to jump into action and confidently call 0-0-0 in a medical emergency, is life-saving.
